Founded in 1959 to provide services for schools, today John Catt is principally engaged in the publication of books, directories, educational guides and magazines specifically aimed at the independent and international schools’ market.
We are proud to support and work in conjunction with the major independent educational organisations: Boarding Schools Association (BSA), Council of International Schools (CIS), European Council of International Schools (ECIS), Headmasters’ and Headmistresses’ Conference (HMC), the International Baccalaureate (IB), FASNA (Freedom and Autonomy for Schools – National Association), and Support and Training in Prep Schools (SATIPS).
For many years the main office was situated in a converted Victorian schoolhouse in Suffolk, but in August 2008 we moved to new offices in Melton, Woodbridge.
The company is international in aspect and serves clients from around the world. Our products are similarly distributed worldwide and the internet enables us to continuously transmit up-to-date information 24 hours a day.
At John Catt we are proud of the position we hold in education and the trust schools place in us - trust that has been won through hard work, attention to detail, and the ability to be flexible and successfully adapt to the changing technological world in which we live.
Meanwhile, through our imprint Peridot Press we publish books of highly respected and skilled authors across a range of topics.
